Birthday of the most lovely and founder of POP music in India and Pakistan, celebrated the day before. She would have been celebrating her 46th birthday, if she is alive.
She was born on 3rd April, 1965; no one knew that baby doll will make her country proud in future with her god gifted talent.
Nazia Hassan started singing on TV as a child artist in 70s. She achieved overnight international fame from her song “ Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zandagi Main Aye” in 1980. This famous song was included in super hit Indian film “Qurbani” and more than 60 million copies were sold world wide. Her first pop music album with her brother Zohaib Hassan, “Disco Diwany” broke all the sale records in India and Pakistan. Songs from this album were at the top chart the entire world including West Indies, Latin America, Britain and Russia. Their album “Young Trung” introduced video culture with songs in Pakistan. More than 40 million copies were sold of this album.
She was also a good social worker, as she worked for children benefits, schooling and promoting of education.
She got married with an industrialist in 1997, which divorced. After broken her marriage, she was died of Cancer in 2000. She left behind a lovely son and millions of fans.
She had gotten many awards like biggest awards “Pride of Performance, Film Fair, Platinum, Double Platinum and Golden Disk Awards”. There is foundation named “Nazia Hassan Foundation” working. And Mr. Ahmed Haseeb made a documentary film “A Music Fairy” after her death.
